Dr. Trevor Erikson began his studies in western herbal medicine in 1991 at Wild Rose Herbal College in Vancouver, BC, with Dr. Terry Willard. From 2001 to 2003, he studied at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, BC, and later transferred to Oshio College of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Victoria, BC, graduating as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Dr. TCM) in 2005.
He has passed all the licensing requirements to be a Registered Acupuncturist and a Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine within the province of British Columbia.
His extensive post-graduate training has primarily been focused on the fields of dermatology, as well as reproductive health and infertility. In 2005 he trained in the busy dermatology wards of a Chinese medicine hospital in Chengsha, Hunan, going on in 2007 to graduate at the top of his class from Mazin Al-Khafaji’s prestigious Chinese medicine dermatology diploma program in London, England. Dr. Erikson has continued to study with Mazin Al-Khafaji up to this present day, meeting regularly to deepen his skills. In 2009, he challenged the specialist exam in the USA to become a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Medicine (FABORM).
He has authored articles in three different Chinese medicine journals and has lectured via webinar to an international audience. He has been asked to teach in Europe, Australia, Canada, and the USA.
Dr. Erikson currently practices out of his home-based clinic in White Rock, BC, about 30 minutes drive from Vancouver. When not seeing patients, studying or writing articles, Dr. Erikson can be found gardening, playing guitar or spending time in nature with his wife, Gillian Allan (a Registered Midwife), and two children.
